The FL-NIR 8900 Near-Infrared Spectroscopy Fiber Content Analyzer (NIR Fiber Analyzer) is a smart tool. It uses near-infrared spectroscopy, with a wavelength range of 780–2500 nm. This device quickly analyzes textile fiber materials without causing damage. It mainly analyzes the content ratios of various fiber components in textiles. This includes cotton, polyester, nylon, wool, and viscose. It can be used for both fabric and finished garment fiber content analysis.

It’s faster than traditional chemical methods, taking only seconds. Plus, it’s eco-friendly and non-destructive. It’s often used in textile testing labs, quality inspection teams, clothing brand labs, and university research.

Description

Test Principle

Compare the near-infrared spectra of test samples to known fibers to identify fiber types.

The near-infrared region shows specific absorption peaks from the organic bonds present in fibers, which include C–H, O–,H and N–H. The different types of fibers generate unique spectral patterns which NIR spectroscopy detects. The molecular arrangements of different fibers create distinctive spectral features that appear in NIR spectroscopy.

Spectral Acquisition

A near-infrared light beam from the instrument strikes the fiber sample during the measurement process.

The sample absorbs and reflects light differently at different wavelengths.

The optical detector detects the light that reflects or transmits from the sample. The instrument produces an NIR spectral curve from the sample data.

Quantitative Analysis

The method enables the measurement of individual components within blended fabric mixtures.

The analysis involves matching the sample spectrum against database models for comparison.
